Suicide Prevention Services is a program of North Central Mental Health Services, a comprehensive community mental health center in Columbus, Ohio.

Our Mission: to reduce the incidence of suicidal behavior in the Franklin County community.

Our Services

24 Hour Crisis Intervention Phone Services – trained volunteers assist callers through empathetic listening, assessing suicide risk, identifying problems, and connecting callers with appropriate resources and referrals.

Speakers Bureau – SPS staff are available to provide presentations and workshops on suicide prevention to school groups, social service providers, faith community groups and any other gatekeepers who work with potentially suicidal individuals

• Presentations can be tailored to the needs of the audience
• Topics include youth suicide prevention, elderly depression and suicide, how support staff can help a suicidal individual and others
• SPS will also staff a display and distribute materials at local health fairs, and other community events
